In 2002 the President of the Rotray Club of Salisbury, Colin Rendell, approached the Brisbane City Council for us to adopt Evans Road in Salisbury and keep it free of litter. Some five years later and a little prodding from our friends at Keep Austalia Beautiful, we have approval to do this and we have teams start at each end of Evans Road picking up litter.

Over the last 3 years, we have notices a dopr of some 50% in the litter and attribute this to less people dropping litter in a clean street. We used to get 4-6 sacks – now we get about 2.
Recently, the Department of Main Roads have errected signs at each end of Evans Road to support the project.
